Joining CCRC is as simple as showing up! Just come to any of our Saturday morning runs, introduce yourself, and you're part of the club. There are no forms to fill out, no membership fees, and no commitments. We welcome everyone regardless of experience level or pace.

Not at all! CCRC welcomes runners and walkers of all experience levels. We have pace groups ranging from walking pace (15:00+ min/mile) to advanced runners (under 8:00 min/mile). Many of our members started as complete beginners and built their fitness over time with the support of our community.

Just the basics! Here's what we recommend:

• Comfortable running shoes
• Weather-appropriate athletic clothing
• Water bottle (especially for longer runs)
• A positive attitude and willingness to meet new people!

We meet at different locations each Saturday throughout the month. Check our Weekly Runs page for the current month's schedule with specific addresses and times. We partner with local businesses across the Central Coast including spots in Orcutt, Santa Maria, and San Luis Obispo.

Yes, CCRC is 100% free! As a non-profit organization, we don't charge any membership fees, registration costs, or require any financial commitment. Our mission is to make healthy living and community connection accessible to everyone. We're supported by local partnerships and optional donations from members who want to support our mission.

We maintain our free model through partnerships with local businesses (like the cafes and shops where we meet), volunteer leadership from dedicated members, and optional apparel sales. Some members also choose to make donations to support special events and activities, but this is never required.

Not at all! Our apparel is completely optional. Many members enjoy wearing CCRC gear to show their club pride and support our activities, but you're welcome to wear whatever you're comfortable running in. All proceeds from apparel sales go back into supporting club events and keeping everything free.

We typically offer two start times each Saturday:

• 6:30 AM - 6 mile option (longer distance)
• 7:15 AM - 3 mile option and walking group

Pace groups ensure everyone runs comfortably with others at their speed. Each group has a pace leader who maintains a consistent pace throughout the run. We typically offer:

• Walking/Easy: 15:00+ min/mile
• Moderate: 10:00-12:00 min/mile (most popular!)
• Fast: 8:00-10:00 min/mile
• Advanced: Under 8:00 min/mile

Not sure which group to join? Start with a slower pace—you can always move up as you get stronger!

No problem at all! Just let your pace leader know, and they'll help you find a better fit. You can switch between groups at any time, and there's absolutely no pressure or judgment. The goal is for everyone to run at a comfortable, sustainable pace. As you get fitter and faster, you can move to quicker groups.

We run in most weather conditions! However, for safety reasons, we may cancel or modify runs in extreme weather (heavy rain, lightning, extreme heat). Always check our social media channels on Saturday morning for any weather-related updates or last-minute changes.

Yes! Well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome on our runs. Just make sure your dog is comfortable running in a group setting and can keep pace with your group. Please be mindful of other runners and clean up after your pet. Some meeting locations may have specific pet policies, so check ahead if you're unsure.
